From the conservas (tapas-style appetizer platter) to the boquerones to the duck confit, every dish was fantastic. The service and atmosphere were also top-notch (perfect lighting, great music, etc). One of the best in the Burgh!

Morcilla is a warm, inviting spot that serves up some memorable tapas alongside a few misses. The cozy ambiance and attentive service make it an enjoyable place for a relaxed evening out. The Highlights: Oxtail Montadito: Braised to perfection, juicy, and paired beautifully with caramelized onion and cheese. A must-order! Mussels en Escabeche: A flavorful and well-prepared dish. Duck Confit: The standout of the evening. The duck was so tender it slipped off the bone, and the rich flavors showed the care put into its preparation. Worth coming back for this alone. The Misses: Chorizo: Nicely presented, but not particularly unique. Pulpo (Octopus): Unfortunately, a disappointment. The octopus was overcooked and rubbery, with the unusual choice of removing the suckers. The chickpea sauce overwhelmed the dish instead of complementing it. Overall, Morcilla offers some incredible dishes worth savoring.

Love the vibes here. Lit just perfectly inside. Service is first class every time. Food always hits. Tapas style but my families favorite is the half roasted chicken with rice. Takes about 45 minutes so if you want to get it don't wait to order. Order it first with your drinks. Everything else I've ever had here always has so much flavor. Even if I wasn't a fan of something it wasn't bc it wasn't tasty. Also a big fan of the duck, skirt steak. Fav small plate is ox tail and favorite app is the bread with a rosemary dipping sauce.

A great small plates spot! I came here with 3 other friends at around 9 PM, and the place was quite full. The waitress was very friendly and offered suggestions on how much food to order and what to order. My friend had been here before, so he also provided some input on what seemed to be the more popular dishes. I was worried, given the nature of small plates, that there would not be enough food, but it turned out to be perfectly enough for the 4 of us. The standout dishes were the oxtail, the duck confit, the beef tartare, and the setas a la plancha. Being able to try out different flavors and styles of food was a very enjoyable experience. The classier atmosphere provided a more elevated experience, which I enjoyed. This seems like a great place to either have a date night or have a nice night out with friends. Looking forward to my next visit!

This meal absolutely takes it home for my best meal of 2024. Morcilla sets the bar so high. Friendly service, outstanding unique cuisine, in a comfortably warm atmosphere. It's the full package. The sangria was delicious, and fair warning dangerous. I had 2 glasses and was feeling it! My favorite bites of the evening would be the Mussels en Escabeche, the Duck Confit, Oxtail, and the Short Rib large plate. This is a great spot for the adventurous eater. I absolutely loved trying these dishes that were new to my palate. And I am just such a sucker for tapas and shareable plates. I love being able to try as much as possible when the menu is THIS good.

Morcilla is one of the places I love bringing friends who are visiting Pittsburgh. I've felt that it is a fine dining restaurant that offers an original menu, of which I felt is food that they can't miss while they are here. There are not many tapa restaurants in the city, and Morcilla is by far a favorite. Their scallops crudo and beef tartare is my favorite variation of the dish, among all the restaurants in Pittsburgh that make it. Their scallops were fresh and a fair portion as it was thickly sliced (been noticing other restaurants slicing their scallops way too thin). Flavors are refreshing and has changed over the years. I loved when it was offered with strawberries. You can't really go wrong with any of their small plates. Their drinks are also great, especially the sangria, though it is on the strong side. Service was a bit slow but they are always fully booked. Be sure to make a reservation well ahead of time. There's walk in bar seating but the wait is pretty long during peak dinner hours.

A great spot for small plates in Pittsburgh. It's an elegant-moody interior. If you like spice and variety, this is a great spot for a date night. Ordered: Goat Rodeo Dairy Cheese 8/10 Chorizo 7/10 Oxtail Montadito 10/10 Beef Tartare 8/10 Roasted Cabbage 5/10 Costillas de la Matanza 10/10 I still can't get over the oxtail and the ribs. Both were so well cooked and seasoned. The ribs were so unique in flavor and perfectly spicy with the harissa. The oxtail was melt on your mouth tender. I think these are both must try dishes. The goat cheese board was a nice small bite with some punchy tang, and the beef tartare was a little heavy on horseradish taste (which is good for us). The only minor gripe, which is strictly personal preference, the cabbage came off too sweet due to the sauce. Our server was great with recommendations and brought out the next dish fresh as we finished the previous. It felt like we had our own multi-course dinner. Would 100% recommend a visit.

We are here to celebrate the Chinese Valentine's Day. Found this on Google and this is indeed a great restaurant. All the meals we ordered are delicious. The indoor area is spacious and nice, and our server was very nice and sweet. She let us know we may have ordered too much and helped us pack the food that we could not finish. No wonder it is hard to book. Will come back again.

Great! Great service and great food. We started with the artichokes and olive and anchovy on bread. The olive oil was fantastic! We continued with octopus and tartare. Both were great. Topped off the meal with the goat cheese flan, minus the pecans.

Morcilla is a really good place with tasty and imaginative flavor pairings. Cozy interior and laid back environment. Drinks were creative and all good-the Suntory Whiskey and red sangria in particular. Food-wise, the crab and salt cad croquettes, braised oxtail, oyster mushrooms, fried sunchokes, octopus, duck confit were all excellent, while the baby back pork ribs were awesome!
